(16 JUN 1839 - 4 May 1929) (bad microfilm -
had to paraphrase some of this obituary) John Daellenbach
died May 1, 1929, at Proctor Minn., of chronic Marcadia, and was brought
here (Dorchester, Clark County, Wis.) immediately for burial. The
funeral took place Wednesday, May 8, at the St. Peter’s
Lutheran Church, Rev. Brandt officiating, Gust Busse, Arthur Baehr,
H. Marquardt, Wm. Benzmann, Albert ? and Gust Laack acting as
pallbearers, and N. W. Gillis of Athens had charge, called by Mr.
Fuchsgruber who had charge of the Venske funeral at the same
time. John Daellenbach
was born in Switzerland, June 16, 1839, and there was married to
Elizabeth Hodel. Eight children were born to them, seven are left
to mourn, Bertha And Emma of ??, and five sons, John of ??, Fred of
Dorchester, Christ of Siren, Wis., Emil of Great Falls, Mont, and
Paul of Brockside, Mont. The Daellenbach’s immigrated to the
U. S. in 1882, arriving in Dorchester in May and 47 years later Mr.
Daellenbach…??. They lived here and raised their family and
one of the children left to make it on their own, until Father
Daellenbach was left alone and ….. (Note: Linda Mertens
