Henry B. COLE, M. D., Black River Falls. Was born in New York State, July 6, 1838. Came to Black River Falls, Wis.. Oct. 1, 1865, and commenced to practice his profession, and has remained there ever since. Was a graduate of the University Medical College. New York City, in the class of 1859-60, which class consisted of 150. Dr. Cole read medicine under Dr. J. L. Adams, at Cornell, N. Y., also under Dr. P. A. Aylett, New York City. He first practiced at Faribault, in 1860, and left there in the Fall of 1862. Was appointed surgeon of the 128th N. Y. V. I., and continued in the service until 1865, stationed at New Orleans. He then came to Black River Falls, Wis., and was married to Clara A. Baxter, July 15, 1866; she was born in New York. May 5, 1848. They have two children, *Cepha H. and **Halbert B. Dr. Cole has been Chairman of County Board two years, and of Village Board one year, and a member of School Board eight years. Is a member of A. F. & A. M., Black River Lodge, No. 74, Chapter, No. 41, La Crosse Commandery, No. 9, and Wisconsin Consistory. S. P. R. S., at Milwaukee.
Henry / Henri B. Cole died in 1921 and is buried in the Riverside Cemetery, Jackson Co., Wisconsin.

Alfred Cole was born 28 Jan 1805 and died 24 Mar 1874 in Black River Falls, Jackson Co., Wis. He was the son of Obed (b. 17 Augl 1772, Carmel, Putnam, NY, d. 26 Augl 1841 in Carmel) and Lydia Baldwin Cole (b. 23 Jan 1775, d. 23 Oct 1858 and is buried in the Old Baptist Church Cemetery, Carmel, NY). Calista Jane Wilson was born May 1819 in Carmel, NY

*Tillie Gwendolyn Davis Cole (b. 7 Feb 1885, d. 3 Jan 1949) later married Daniel Charles Vanbrunt of Horicon, Wisconsin (b.21 Feb 1882) and they resided in California. He was a member of the prestigious Vanbrunt family whose ancestors were fore-runnes to the John Deere Company and he'd previously been married to Olive ? and lived in Milwaukee when the 1910 Census was taken.
