Owen, Clark County, Wis. - Otto C. Kowalk, 72, Owen, died about 10 p.m. Wednesday of an apparent heart attack at his summer home at Turtle Lake.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home in Owen, the Rev. Douglas Groenewold officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery in Turtle Lake.
Mr. Kowalk was born Oct. 26, 1904 in Colby where he married Mabel Quist Aug. 9, 1927 at Zion Lutheran Church.
They farmed in the Town of Colby, Clark County until 1947 when they moved to Owen. He worked part time as a bartender for the Woodland Hotel and Dave’s Steak House in Owen. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Aug. 7, 1977.
Mr. Kowalk was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his widow, two sisters, Mrs. William (Lena) Sasche and Mrs. Clara Eder, both of Colby, and one brother, George of Colby. He was predeceased by two brothers.
