Hemp, John G. (1 SEP 1911 - 13 Augl 1977)

Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. - Services for John G. Hemp, 65, Merrillan, who died early Saturday following a heart attack, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. The Rev. Erik Zingleman of Black River Falls will officiate and burial will be in the Neillsville Cemetery. Friends May call from 6-9 p.m. today and Tuesday morning at the funeral home.

Mr. Hemp was born Sept. 1, 1911 in the Globe, area in Clark County where he received his education. He farmed in the area for several years before moving to La Crosse where he worked for Gateway Transportation Co. He worked there for about 20 years, retiring in 1966.

He moved to Hatfield in 1968. He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Black River Falls. He married Amanda Kuester Sept. 24, 1932 in Neillsville, She survives.

Besides his widow, he is survived by one son Ronald, of La Crosse; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Poppe and Mrs. Clara Mitte, both of Neillsville; three brothers, Leo of Neillsville, Arthur of Junction City and Paul of Rochester, Minn., and five grandchildren.

He is predeceased by one son.
