Schiferl, Frances Victoria (13 March 1920 - 19 July 2004)

ABBOTSFORD - Frances Victoria Schiferl, 84, Abbotsford, Wisconsin, died Monday, July 19, 2004, at House of the Dove, Marshfield.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2004, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Abbotsford. Concelebrants will be her son, the Rev. David Schiferl, and the Rev. Eric Linzmaier. Burial will be in Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2004, at Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, and until time of services at the funeral home on Friday. There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Frances was born March 13, 1920, at Ladysmith to Sam and Lottie Liazuk. Frances and Felix Schiferl were married April 25, 1938, in Gilman. They farmed in the town of Mayville, rural Dorchester, from 1938 to 1967. Then they moved to Abbotsford, where she worked as a cook for Abbotsford Public Schools until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church and the PCCW.

Frances is survived by her children, James (Pauline) Schiferl of Abbotsford, Janet (Lowell) Johnson of Valparaiso, Ind., Barbara (Donald) Haddix of Joplin, Mo., Elizabeth Muthiani of Cincinnati, Charlotte (Craig) Moldenhauer of Valders, Anette (John Doherty) Schiferl of Seattle, Ronald (Melissa Miller) Schiferl of Plymouth, Minn., Richard (Elizabeth) Schiferl of Greer, S.C., and the Rev. David Schiferl of Cornelius, Ore.; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Irene Askin of Baraboo; two brothers, Frank (Loretta) Laszuk of Chicago, Ill., and Fred (Alverta) Lupa of Traverse City, Mich.; and three sisters-in-law, Rose Laszuk, Pearl Laszuk and Evelyn Hauke.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Felix, on March 17, 1977; and three brothers, Walter, Stanley, and Florian.

Memorials May be given to House of the Dove, Marshfield.
