Steevens, Jerome Daniel (10 July 1920 - 9 Oct. 2004)

ABBOTSFORD - Jerome Daniel Steevens, 84, of Abbotsford, formerly of Dorchester, died Oct. 9, 2004, at Continental Manor Nursing Home in Abbotsford.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Dorchester. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery, town of Holton.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford and on Wednesday from noon until service time at the church.

He was born July 10, 1920, in Medford to Henry and Emma (Carstensen) Steevens. He graduated from Medford High School. He married Marietta Gebert on June 12, 1943. She died April 17, 1989. He then married Evelyn Marti Damm on May 29, 1993. He farmed in the town of Holton until he retired in 1985.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Abbotsford; his children, Dr. Barry (Kay) Steevens of Columbia, Mo., Dale (Ginger) Steevens of Park Rapids, Minn., Cheryl (Scott) Schmutzler of Abbotsford; his stepchildren Sharon (Gene) Thiede of Pittsville, Doug Damm of Minneapolis, Sheila (Dan) Hamann of Tucson, Ariz., and Dorine Damm of Marengo; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Pitzke of Medford; one brother, Marvin (Joyce) Steevens of Dorchester; and one sister-in-law, Maxine Steevens of Medford.
