Selves, Emma (11 May 1862 - 15 Aug. 1933)
Mrs. Elmer Selves passed away early Tuesday morning, Aug. 15th. About four years ago she suffered a stroke and since then has been in poor health.
Emma Randall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lysias Randall, was born in Waupaca County May 11, 1862. She lived there until she was ten years of age, when the family moved to Clark County. Her home has been in and around Neillsville ever since.
On Oct. 11, 1882, she was married to Elmer Selves. They lived in the city and on their farm a short distance out. Mr. Selves died April 7, 1918.
Mrs. Selves was a lady of quiet manner, much devoted to her home and family, but ready to be of service to all about her. She was a charter member of the Royal Neighbors and a member of the W. R. C.
She is survived by two sons Byron of Grantsburg, Wis., and Hugh of Neillsville. A daughter died in infancy and a son Donald died in 1908. She leaves also six grandchildren and four sisters: Mrs. M. E. Wilding and Mrs. Addie Merrill of Neillsville; Mrs. Sarah Owen, Sioux Falls, S. D.; Mrs. Elenora Butler, Minneapolis; one brother Jerry Randall of Fond du Lac.
The funeral will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Congregational church, Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating.
