TERESA A "TERRI" (GURNEY) FINCK

Surnames: Finck, Gurney, Boyd, Castner

Teresa A "Terri" (Gurney) Finck, age 43, of Black River Falls, and formerly of Neillsville, Stoughton and Mineral Point, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 9, 2005, in the Black River Memorial Hospital.

Terri was born April 22, 1961, in Berwyn, IL, to Charles and Laura (Boyd) Gurney. She was raised in Neillsville and Stoughton, and she graduated from the Mineral Point High School in 1979. She attended University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Terri married Donald J Finck in Black River Falls August 16, 1986. The couple lived their entire married lives in Black River Falls.

Terri worked at various post offices in the area. She was employed at Leeson Mfg. and the Black River Memorial Hospital. She managed the bar at the Miles-Haven American Legion Post. Since June 19, 2002, she has worked in the accounting department at the Co-op Credit Union.

Terri was a happy, loving, friendly, funny woman who enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, singing karaoke and spending time with family and friends. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.

Surviving are her loving husband, Donald of the Army National Guard stationed in Iraq; two wonderful children, Trent (Kristen) Gurney, 26, Denver, CO, and Byron Finck, 12, of Black River Falls; her parents, Charles and Laura Gurney, Neillsville; a sister, Trisha (James) Castner, Merrillan; two brothers, Todd (Sherry) Gurney, Martinsberg, MO and Travis (Tessa) Gurney, Greenwood; her paternal grandmother, Elma Gurney, Neillsville; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Terri was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather William "George" Gurney; her paternal uncle, Jerry Gurney; and maternal grandparents, William and Helen Boyd.

Memorial funeral services for Terri A Finck were held Friday, April 15, 2005, at 11 a.m. from the Black River Falls Methodist Church. Pastor Thomas Dunham officiated, and a private burial service for the family will take place at a later date in the Riverside Cemetery.

Relatives and friends called at Torgerson’s Funeral Home, Black River Falls, on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Honorary pallbearers were Todd, Travis and Trent Gurney and Byron Finck.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be given to an account established in Donald Finck’s name for an education fund for their son, Byron, at the Co-op Credit Union, 100 E. Main St.; Black River Falls.
