Haller, Mary F. (8 DEC 1909 - 24 OCT 2004)

Mary F. Haller, age 94, of Gilman, WI, passed awy Sunday, October 24, 2004, at the Zastrow Nursing Home, Gilman, Wi, under the care of Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, Rib Lake, WI. The former Mary Chaplinski was born on December 8, 1909, in Polley, WI, Taylor County, the daughter of the late George and Anna Chaplinski. After attending Polley school she moved to Chicago, Il., where she worked at J. P. Dalaiden Co., a religious supply store for 15 years. It was during this time that she met Edward Haller and they were united in marriage on June 15, 1940, in Chicago, IL.

After their marriage they moved to a farm in the Gilman area where they lived until 1988 when they moved to the village of Gilman.

Mary had many interests, including raising bees and extracting honey, raising orchids, caning furniture, painting and pottery, cooking, baking, rock collecting, gardening and many more. She was an active member of St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Gilman, WI, and belonged to the St. Annes Society and the Rosary Society.

Mary is survived by her husband Edward of Gilman, WI; son Frank (Marge) Haller of Rice Lake, WI; daughters, Marcia (Ron) Smith of Farmington, IA and Helen (Tony) Mazzocco of Barrington, IL; sisters Victoria Duffy of Gilman WI, Hattie Reiman of Medford, WI, and Henrietta Jarmoluk of Gary, IL; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren

She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Merceda, sisters Dorothy and Ulga,and brothers Nicholai, Marlin, Louis, Michael and Andrew.

Services for Mary will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Gilman, WI, with burial to follow in the parish cemetery. Friends and family May call Wednesday evening from 4-8 p.m. at the Gilman Funeral Home, Gilman, WI with a 7:00 p.m. rosary being recited. Plombon Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
