Kelpe, Charles (**1 Oct. 1879 - 20 Nov. 1933)
**Taken from the WWI draft registrations cards; Monroe County, Wis.
Friends here received a message that Charles Kelpe, former teacher in St. John’s Lutheran School, Neillsville, had passed away at his home in Tomah Monday evening, Nov. 20.
Mr. Kelpe resigned his position here to take charge of the Lutheran parochial school in Tomah, 20 years ago and has been there every since.
His health had been failing for some time past and for several weeks his daughter Gretchen had taken his place in the school room.
Mr. Kelpe was a capable and conscientious teacher and a man highly esteemed by all who knew him. He leaves his wife and one daughter.
