Diamond, Frances (Dec 1845 - 27 Augl 1881)
Died, at her residence in this village (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.), on Tuesday, the 30th inst. (Tuesday was actually the 27th), Frances Cotter, beloved wife of Daniel Diamond, in the 36th years of her age.
Frances Cotter was born in County Cork, Ireland, in Dec. 1845, from whence she removed, with her parents, at the age of eleven years, and came to this country, settling in St. Lawrence Co., N.Y. Here she resided with her parents until she reached her nineteenth year when she was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Daniel Diamond.
Eleven years ago she came with her husband to this state and settled in Green Lake Co., near Montello, where they resided until seven years ago last December, when they moved to this place, and have resided here ever since. She was consequently one of the pioneer settlers of this place.
About one year ago Mrs. Diamond was stricken with disease, and from that time, until released by death, she has been a great sufferer. She was the mother of six children, three boys and three girls, all of whom are left with the loving husband to mourn this early demise. The bereaved family has the sincerest sympathies of the entire community.
The remains of deceased were taken last night to Montello for interment.
