White, William C. (16 Jul 1812 – 28 Jul 1882)
Died, at Friendship, Adams Co., on Friday morning, July 28th, 1882, of heart disease, Mr. William Curtis White in the 70th years of his age.
Mr. White was born in Cattaraugus Co., N.Y., July 16th, 1812. When he was about eight years of age his father removed the family to McKehn Co., Pennsylvania, at which place, on arriving at manhood, he married Miss Emeline Rice, and resided there until 1854, when he moved to Wisconsin and settled in Adams County. In May 1860 his wife departed this life and preceded him to that better land. In 1877 he came to Colby, Clark Co., Wis. to reside with his sons. He enjoyed good health and was always a very strong man up to last spring, when it was noticeable to all that his health was gradually failing him. About two weeks previous to his death he accompanied his son J.P. to Friendship to visit the scenes of his early and mature manhood, and to renew associations and ties of old acquaintances and friendships, which seemed to afford him great pleasure for several days before the crisis in his disease came. He lingered but a few days and passed quietly away. He leaves three sons and one daughter, besides hosts of friends, to mourn his loss.
