Josephine E. Peterson, 88, Greenwood, died Friday, May 6, 2005, at Palliative Care Unit of Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, at Grace United Methodist Church, Greenwood. The Rev. Craig Conklin officiated. Burial was in the Greenwood City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeff Voss, James Voss, Jerry Voss, Lee Voss, Dawn Voss, Erin Voss, Sam Voss, and Miles Voss.
Josephine Elizabeth Raik was born on Oct. 5, 1916, in Sheboygan, to Frank and Antonia (nee Primc) Raik. When she was 3 years old, her family moved to a farm north of Greenwood. She attended Decker School and graduated from Greenwood High School in 1935. She married Lloyd Peterson on June 17, 1936, at Grace United Methodist Church parsonage, Greenwood. They farmed south of Greenwood on his home farm until retiring in 1980, at which time, they moved into greenwood. They enjoyed many bus tours all over the United States and Canada, and also traveled to Hawaii, Europe and the Caribbean. She was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church and T.O.P.S. She also had many interests, but especially her grandsons and great-grandchildren, gardening and flowers.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Lloyd, Greenwood; one daughter, Jo Ann (Wayne) Voss, Granton; three grandsons, Jeff (Lee) Voss, Minocqua, James (Dawn) Voss, Neillsville, Jerry (Stephanie) Voss, Appleton; and six great-grandchildren, Ryan, Erin, Sam, Miles, Ali, and Emma.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one son Jerry; three brothers, Frank, Louis, and Joseph; and four sisters, Angline, Antonia, Donie, and Eleanor.
Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, assisted the family with arrangements.
