Charles Meissner, 85, route 1, Chili, a Nasonville farmer for 30 years, died of a complication of ailments Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, where he was a patient since April 4. The body will lie in state at the Seehafer-Hansen Funeral Home, Marshfield, until Saturday noon when it will be taken to St. John's Lutheran Church, Nasonville, to lie in state until the time of the rites. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Edgar Milleville officiating. Burial will be made in the Nasonville cemetery. Mr. Meissner was born in Saxony, Germany, Oct. 15, 1850, and was married to the late Ida Smith (Schmidt) Oct. 29, 1883. He was a member of St. John' Lutheran Church, Nasonville, and resided at Nasonville for 44 years. Surviving are five sons, Charles Jr., route 2, Granton; Edwin, route 1, Chili; Arbie, Milwaukee; Ervin, Neillsville; and Earl, route 2, Granton; a daughter, Mrs. Emil Ott, route 1, Marshfield; 19 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Another son, Elmer, died in 1900 and two brothers, Adolph of Milwaukee and Henry of Caledonia also preceded him in death.
Note: The date of death was not stated in obituary, but Charles Simon Meissner died June 26, 1946.
