Edwin E. Grobe, 84, formerly of Chili, died at 1:33 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Living Center, Arpin, where he had been a resident for the last four years. He was born July 13, 1902, in the Town of Fremont to Herman and Ernestine Grobe. He was raised at Chili and helped his father on the family farm. He later worked in the harvest fields in the Dakotas. He married Adelia Lustig March 29, 1927 at Chili. He farmed on the home farm until 1941, when he moved to Chili, where he did carpenter and construction work until his retirement. His first wife died Aug. 6, 1970. He married Carol Weichelt Chubb Oct. 10, 1973 at Zion Lutheran Church Parsonage, Granton. She survives. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and Granton Sportsman Club, where he helped in the construction of their new facility. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Leo (Verna) Roehl, Chili, and Mrs. Ronald (Carl) Koepke, Marshfield; two sons, Louis, Three Lakes, and Edward, Mason, Mich.; seven stepdaughters, a stepson, a sister, Mrs. Bertha Meissner, Neillsville, 14 grandchildren; 21 step-grandchildren; 12 great-granchildren; and six step great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Florence, a son, Elmer, a granddaughter, three sisters, and three brothers.
