Local Resident Dies as Age 80 - Feb 27, 1965
Charles William Meissner, 80, died of complications Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital where he had been a patient the past nine days. He had been in ill health the past three weeks. Funeral services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church with burial in Hillside cemetery.
Mr. Meissner was born Oct. 18, 1884 at Caledonia, and at the age of 14 years came with his parents to Nasonville. He received his education in the Caledonia and Nasonville schools. His marriage to Eva Stella Lindow took place June 24, 1914 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in the town of Lincoln, Wood County.
The couple farmed in the Nasonville area for several years and then moved to a farm in the town of Lynn. In June, 1947, they came to Marshfield. Mr. Meissner also had done masonry and bricklaying during his life.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Del (Ilene) Peterson, and Mrs. Lawrence (Olive) Peterson; three brothers, Arbie Meissner, Milwaukee; Ervin Meissner, Marshfield; and, Earl Meissner, Marshfield; a sister, Mrs. Emil (Alma) Ott, Marshfield; a granddaughter and a grandson. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a granddaughter.
