Hanson, Peter (17 MAY 1899 - 8 Augl 1945)

Greenwood, Clark Co., Wis. - Peter Hanson, 46, who was employed by the Rural Electrification Administration, was killed instantly in a fall from a tree while working 1 ½ miles southeast of Loyal, at 10:30 o’clock this morning. He had been working for the REA of Clark County in the Loyal vicinity since last fall.

The body is at Nichols Funeral Home at Loyal at present, pending funeral arrangements.

Mr. Hanson, whose home was at Greenwood since he came from Tomahawk, was born in Denmark, Wis., Brown Co., May 17, 1899. Before coming here about a year ago, he was employed by the Wis. Public Service Co-operative at Tomahawk.

A veteran of World War I, Mr. Hanson was an active member of the Harry D. Wallis Post, American Legion, in Greenwood and was a member of the finance committee of that organization. He also was a member of the Clark County Conservation League.

Surviving besides his wife, Linda, are five children, Jean, 17, and Doris, 14, both employed at Green Bay during the summer months, and Donald, 11, Norman, 10, and Rosalind, 9, all at home.

His father, John Hanson, resides at Denmark, and also surviving are three brothers and two sisters.
