Otto A. Bulgrin Dies at Age 89
Otto A. Bulgrin, active for many years in public life including service as supervisor of the town of Lincoln, died of a heart ailment Monday at his home, 201 S. State Ave. He was 89 years of age.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church with burial in Hillside cemetery.
Mr. Bulgrin was born Christmas Day, 1883, in Germany and came to the US with his parents at the age of three to live in the Town of Lynn. Later, the family settled on a tract of wild land in the town of Lincoln and through the years developed it into a fine dairy farm. Mr. Bulgrin also received his education in the town of Lincoln.
After his marriage to the former Rose Amanda Kaufman, October 5, 1904, in Marshfield, the Bulgrins lived in the town of Lincoln until 1944 when they moved to Marshfield. The couple celebrated their 60th anniversary in 1964.
Mr. Bulgrin served 12 years on the Lincoln Township Board and on the Lone Elm School Board. He also was associated with the Lindsey Telephone Company and the Chili Telephone Company, and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Marshfield and the Marshfield Elks Lodge.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Walter (Thelma) Ott, Marshfield; two sons, Edward H. Bulgrin, Allentown, Pa., and Amos L. Bulgrin, Marshfield; seven grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Three brothers preceded him in death.
