Temby, Peter S. (8 Sept. 1867 - 7 March 1934)
P. S. Temby who was stricken with apoplexy at this home in this city on March 6, and was taken to Neillsville hospital, died there about 1 o’clock p.m., Wednesday, March 7.
Peter S. Temby was born on a farm in Pulaski Township, Iowa County, Wis., Sept. 8, 1867. He grew up on the farm, learned telegraphy and was employed for a time in offices in the south part of Wisconsin. He then went west and was employed in stations at Kallispell, Libby and other cities in Montana. He remained in Montana about ten years and came back to Wisconsin. For a time he was employed at Mt. Horeb and in Milwaukee by a manufacturing company and by the Bell Telephone Co.
Mr. Temby was first married in 1893 to Lottie Sires of Missoula, Montana. She died about 1902.
In 1921 he was married to Mrs. Theresa Cornelius, who died in 1925.
Mr. Temby was a man of high ideals, devoted to his friends, a lover of flowers and gardens. For a good many years he was a student of Christian Science and active in the work of the church here.
Funeral services were held Friday at Lowe’s Funeral Home, the Christian Science service being read by Mrs. Sybil Clark. The body was taken to Dodgeville, Wis., Saturday for burial in the family lot.
Mr. Temby is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Albert Meier, of the town of Levis, and one sister, Mrs. Lillie Prideau, Dickinson, N. Dak., and Mrs. Prideaux came to attend the funeral.
