David Gallagher, Jr., of Neillsville and Miss Mabel Portz of the town of Fremont, were united in marriage on New Years Day at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Portz, Rev. Zimmerman of Chili officiating.
Mr. Harry Portz, brother of the bride, acted as best man and Miss Virginia Gallagher, sister of the groom, was bridesmaid.
The bride and groom were classmates in Neillsville high school, graduating in June, 1927.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Gallagher, Sr. of Neillsville. He spent practically all his life here.
After graduation, the groom was employed as a tester for the Clark County Cow-testing Association for some time. He now has a milk route for the Condensary. He is a young man of high character and well liked by all who know him.
Since completing her school training, the bride has been engaged in teaching in the rural schools of this county and has been very successful in her work. This year she is teaching near Greenwood and plans to complete the year’s work. She is a young lady of refinement and pleasing personality and has a wide circle of friends.
The Press joins in wishing this fine young couple much happiness and success.
