Tomlinson, Violet (Marriage - 23 May 1934)

Miss Violet Tomlinson of Seif, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Tomlinson, and Mr. Lester Ross of Osseo, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Ross were untied in marriage Wednesday, May 23, at 9 a.m. at the home of Rev. G. W. Longenecker, the ring ceremony being used.

The bride was attired in an all white ankle length dress and wore white slippers, a head band of silver leaves and carried a bouquet of bridal wreath ferns and sweet peas arranged in streamer effect and tied with white chiffon ribbons.

The bride was attended by Miss Eva Ross, sister of the groom who was dressed in a blue ankle length dress, white slippers and wore a head band of silver leaves and carried a bouquet of bridal wreath and sweet peas tied with white chiffon ribbon.

The groom was dressed in a blue suit and was attended by the bride’s youngest brother, Jess also dressed in dark blue.

The boys wore pink carnations and lilies of the valley.

After the ceremony the party drove to Thayer’s studio where pictures were taken, and then drove to the home of the bride’s parents where later supper was served to immediate relatives and friends.

The rooms were decorated in blue and white crepe paper.

The wedding cake which was bake by Mrs. Peter Strangfeld, sister of the bride was also decorated in blue and white.

The bride was born in Mount Pulaski, Illinois and later moved with her parents to Clark County and has lived most of her life at home.

She is a refined young lady of a quite nature, and has a host of friends in her home community.

The groom was born in Osseo and has for the past twelve years been employed at the condensery there.

After a short vacation he will go back to his work at Osseo.

He is but slightly acquainted in this community but is well spoken of by all who know him.

In the evening a dance was given at the Globe hall at which a large crowd attended, and everyone reported a very good time.

The young couple will make their home at Osseo.
