THORP - Jack Milton Conklin Sr., 95, of Thorp died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at Oakbrook Health and Rehabilitation in Thorp.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at Thorp Funeral Home. Burial of his cremains will take place in Butler Cemetery at a later date.
He was born March 16, 1910, in Colon, Mich., and, from the age of nine, was raised by Homer and Bertha Conklin. He was a private in the Wisconsin National Guard, Calvary Division, from 1939 to 1940. He married Winifred Conklin on March 6, 1940. She died March 27, 1975. He was employed by Plautz Brothers Construction and was a cheesemaker at Blue Moon Cheese Factory in Thorp.
He is survived by five children, Leslie (Amy) Conklin, Anaheim, Calif., Judith Kesler, Lincoln Park, Mich., Lila (George) Reed, Hurley, Connie (Edward) Irish, Cadott, and Jack Jr. (Barb) Conklin, Orlando, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchldren.
