Scott, Arcella 'Sally' Marjorie (8 Dec. 1922 - 19 May 2005)

Arcella "Sally" Scott, age 82, of Neillsville died Thursday, May 19, 2005, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Arcella Marjorie Scott was born Dec. 8, 1922, in Pepin County, the daughter of Edward and Cecelia (Doan) Roetter. She was united in marriage to Allen Scott on Aug. 8, 1945, in Eau Claire. After their marriage, they moved to Washington State, where their son, William, was born. They lived in Washington for two years and then moved back to Eau Claire. Sally taught grades 1 to 8 at the small country schools in the area for five years. Sally and Allen also farmed near Bloomer for ten years before moving to Neillsville and farming off Highway C. They farmed there until 1981, when Sally's health got bad and they sold the farm. They moved to their current residence on Maple Road in 1982.

Sally was a leader of the Happy Hollow 4-H Club for years, and she often worked the 4-H booth at the fair. She was active in the National Farmers' Organization and was a member of a homemaker's club. She taught Sunday School at the United Methodist Church in Christie and, most recently, her and Allen were members of the Living Hope Evangelical Free Church in Neillsville.

She is survived by her husband, Allen; one daughter, Bonnie Scott of Mosinee; one son, William (Shelly) Scott of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren, David Scott, Michael (Suzanne) Scott, Ashley Grys, Nickolaus Schuster and Brandon Schuster; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Will Scott; two sisters, Elaine Rud of Mondovi and Janice (Ben) Williams of Everett, Wash.; and one brother, Orville Roetter of Mondovi. Sally was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Judy; a brother, Ronald Roetter; a sister, Eva Roetter; and her parents.

Funeral services for Sally will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at Living Hope Evangelical Free Church in Neillsville. The Rev. Steven Wentz will officiate. Music will be provided by Kathy Meshnick, organist; and David Skiff, soloist. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.

Casket bearers are Nickolaus Schuster, Brandon Schuster, David Scott and Mike Scott.

Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville is assisting Sally's family with funeral arrangements.
