COLBY, WIS. - Harold E. Block, 93, of Colby died Thursday, May 26, 2005, at Continental Manor Nursing Home in Abbotsford.
Maurina/Community Funeral Home of Abbotsford is assisting the family with arrangements.

Harold Block
COLBY, WIS. - Harold E. Block, 93, Colby, Wisconsin, died from complications of pneumonia on Thursday, May 26, 2005, at the Continental Manor, Abbots-ford.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Ripling-er, Wis.
Visitation will be from noon to service time Wednesday at the church. The Rev. Rebekah Jorstad will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in the town of Unity. Casket bearers will be Jeffery Block, Jonathon Block, Jesse Miller, Jason Miller, Michael Schuette, and Leslie Burkhalter. Honorary casket bearers will be LeRoy and Katherine Dommer and Woodrow and Sherry Schmutzler Jr., Gary Viegut, and Kevin Cliver.
Harold was born on January 19, 1912, in Verona, N.D., to Fred Block and Johanna Leapsick. At the age of 9, he moved with his mother to the Colby area. He attended Sand Hill School in the town of Colby. Harold married Frieda Zitzer on August 8, 1934. He farmed with his wife in the town of Colby area until his retirement at the age of 81. He was still residing on the farm.
Harold was a charter member of the Rip Riders Snowmobile club. He enjoyed four-wheeling, snowmobiling, deer hunting and watching CNN and Fox News. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
Harold is survived by two daughters, Joan (Ray Jr.) Miller, Colby, and Judine Block, Colby; a son, Jerry (Carrole) Block, Greenwood; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Frieda, on Dec. 14, 2002; two sons, John and Jay Block; a great-grandson, Justin Ress; a brother, Norbert Block; and two stepbrothers, Art and Ervin Schultz.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to St. John's Lutheran Church "Organ Fund." Maurina/Community Funeral Homes are assisting the family with arrangements.
