Reigel, Harry G. (29 July 1916 - 28 May 2005)
MADISON -Harry G. Reigel, 88, died Saturday, May 28, 2005, at his assisted living apartment in Seymour. He was a longtime resident of Sun Prairie and the Madison area. There will be no visitation.
All friends and family are invited to the funeral service at 11 a.m. today at Bethany Evangelical Free Church, 301 Riverside Drive, Madison. Burial will follow in Windsor Cemetery.

Harry was born to James and Mary Reigel in the Reigels' log house on a farm west of Marshfield on July 29, 1916. He was the oldest of four brothers, Robert, Harland and Lavern. He finished grade school in the Cameron School, graduated high school in Marshfield, and attended UW-Madison for one and one-half years.
On Oct. 1, 1936, Harry married Verna Clouse of Loyal. Three children were born to this marriage, Dr. Donald Reigel of Pittsburgh, Wilbur Reigel (deceased) and James Reigel of Green Bay. Harry was married to Verna for 56 years, until her death on Nov. 11, 1992.
Living in the Marshfield area for a brief time after their marriage, Harry and Verna then moved to Columbus, Ohio, and back, pursuing work. They finally settled in the Madison area, living in Madison and Windsor and then, for many years, in Sun Prairie. During his lifetime, Harry had a variety of occupations, from machinist to home builder. He also worked in his later years as field manager for Erdmann & Associates of Middleton, building schools and medical buildings around the U.S. Harry was a trained carpenter and built many homes in Sun Prairie and communities surrounding Madison over a span of almost 40 years.
Harry is survived by brothers, Robert Reigel of Cascade, Colo., Harland of Marshfield and Lavern of Marshfield; grandchildren, Christopher Reigel of Minneapolis, Andrew Reigel of Pittsburgh, Gregory Reigel of Minneapolis, Mathew Reigel of Madison, Samuel Reigel of Tacoma, Wash., Emily Reigel of Madison and Benjamin Reigel of Green Bay; and by four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Verna; son, Wilbur; and granddaughter, Sidney.
Harry had a great love of flowers and growing things, of building clocks and other crafted woodworking and carving, and was proud of the homes he had built. He loved his children and their families, and was ever helpful to his neighbors and his friends. He will be missed very much by those who knew him, who take comfort that he is now, at last, reunited with his beloved wife.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to either Good Shepherd Assisted Care, of 605 Bronson Road, Seymour WI 54165, or to The Woodlands Foundation, dedicated to the enrichment of children with disabilities, of 134 Shenot Road, Wexford PA 1509.
