Asselin, Harriet Elaine (17 Aug. 1917 - 23 Feb. 2004)
Harriet Elaine Asselin, 86, of Eau Claire, formerly of Thorp, Wis., passed away Monday, February 23, 2004, at Luther Hospital. Harriet was born August 17, 1917, in Stanley, Wis., to Andrew and Amanda (Peterson) Johnson.
She graduated from Stanley High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She was a teacher in many places throughout Wisconsin, with one half of her teaching career being in Thorp. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, as well as spending summers at her cottage in Jim Falls, Wis.
Harriet is survived by her sons, Edward (Sharon) of Eau Claire and Andrew of El Cajon, Calif.; grandchildren, Kristin, Paul, Mathew, Katie and Kelly Asselin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; daughter, Mary Margaret Asselin; sisters, Marjorie Peterson and Wanda Cordahl; and brother, Lyman Johnson.
A memorial service will be held for Harriet at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2004, at the Syverson Lutheran Home Chapel with Reverend Andrew Boe officiating. Spring interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Stanley, Wis.
The Cremation Society of Wisconsin is serving the family.
