Bieganek, FERN (8 Aug. 1926 - 5 Feb. 2004)
Fern (Cunningham) Bieganek, 78, died February 5, 2004, at Stanley.
She was born August 8, 1926, in Crawford County, daughter of Earl and Mildred (Heisz) Cunningman. At age 12 she moved to Stanley and after her schooling she moved to Milwaukee where she worked for the Briggs & Stratton Co. for many years. In 1963 she moved to the Chicago area where she worked as a dispatcher for the Glendale Heights Police Department. In 1968 she moved back to Wisconsin and owned a Drive-in in Thorp. In 1982 she moved to Stanley area where she owned and operated the Carriage Manor Retirement Home. Fern loved spending her spare time crocheting, gardening, cooking and traveling.
Surviving are her children, Linda (David) Acker of Stanley, Roy E. Kleist of Stanley and Sandra Bieganek of Glendale, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; one sister Lois (Jack) Pease of Waukesha and one brother, Melvin C. (Mona) of Janesville.
She was also preceded by her parents. Services were Saturday at the Salem United Methodist Church with burial at the National Cemetery, both in Eastman. The Plombon Funeral Chapel of Stanley assisted the family.
