Haas, Leonard A. (1 Oct. 1925 - 15 April 2004)

SUN PRAIRIE - Leonard A. Haas, age 78, died on Thursday, April 15, 2004, at his residence in Sun Prairie. He was born on Oct. 1, 1925, in Thorp, the son of George and Mary (Kocherer) Haas. He married the former Pearl E. Mann on May 5, 1984, in Madison. He was a member of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church in Sun Prairie, and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Leonard was a master plumber for the University of Wisconsin for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Pearl of Sun Prairie; two sons, Gary (Sue) Haas of Stoughton, and Brice (Julie) Haas of Cottage Grove; a daughter, Cheryl (Richard) Stark of Sun Prairie; four step-children, Timmie (Lori) Gosdeck of Deerfield, Allen (friend, Cindy) Gosdeck of Marshall, Judy (John) Pederson of Columbia Falls, Mont., and Janice (Bud) Lee of Pardeeville; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Manetta Danielewicz of Thorp; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Kevin; two brothers, Conrad and Bernard; and three sisters, Marcella, Margaret and Annabelle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 19, 2004, at 11 a.m. in SACRED HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 221 Columbus St., Sun Prairie, with the Rev. Bart Timmerman presiding.

Entombment will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Sun Prairie Memory Garden, meet at the cemetery.
