McDonald, Richard Herbert (18 April 1944 - 8 Feb. 2004)

THORP - Richard "Mac" Herbert McDonald, 59, of Thorp died Feb. 8, 2004, at William S. Middleton VA Medical Center in Madison.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Inurnment will be at Gleason Cemetery in Gleason. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

He was born April 18, 1944, in Chicago to Wilbert F. and Drucilla M. (Shey) McDonald. He served with the U.S. Navy from Feb. 17, 1965, until Feb. 16, 1971. Following his discharge, he worked as a prison guard and then as as electrician in Anderson, Ind. He then was employed as a maintenance electrician at Firestone. He retired as a lineman for the Pendleton, Ind., power company and moved to Thorp in 1997.

He is survived by his children, Heather Eaton and Jason McDonald, both of Avon, Ind.; fiancee, Vera Budzinski, Thorp; two grandchildren and one adopted grandson; his brother, Fred (Joan) Petke, Thorp; and two sisters, Cindy (Wayne) Satonica and Patsy (Al) Tetzlaff, both of Owen.
