Krueger, Dora (1874 - 16 Jan 1931)
Neighbors and friends of Mrs. Julius Krueger were shocked to hear of her death which occurred last Friday Morning when she took her own life by shooting herself through the abdomen with a 12 gauge shot gun in the cellar of her home south of Spokeville.
She had assisted her husband and son with milking cows Friday morning in apparent good health and committed the rash deed immediately after. When the men reached the house for breakfast a search was made for her whereabouts and she was found on the cellar floor. Dr. H. T. Callahan of Spencer was called and stated that apparently death was instantaneous. It was said the gun had not been loaded when left in the house, but she must have inserted the shell herself. Wm. Bradford, Clark County sheriff, and Dr. Horace Frank, county coroner, were summoned, but did not consider an inquest necessary.
Mrs. Krueger was 56 years of age and her maiden name was Dora Rue. She was formerly Mrs. Lloyd Kommers and was married to Mr. Julius Krueger about two years ago. She is survived by three grown sons and three daughters and several sisters and brothers.
Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at Hope Chapel.
The bereaved family has the sympathy of many friends and The Tribune.
