Martin, Ivan M. (23 April 1920 - 9 April 2004)

Ivan M. Martin, 83, of Oak Haven Road, Richmond Township, died April 9 at 6:42 a.m. in Reading Hospital, shortly after admission. He was the husband of Mary Z. (Burkholder) Martin.

Born in West Earl Township, Lancaster County, he was a son of the late Michael W. and Anna (Martin) Martin.

Martin was the owner of Martin's Greenhouses, Richmond Township, from 1969 until 1993. He was also self-employed as a farmer in Richmond Township from 1943 until 1974.

He was a member of Fleetwood Old Order Mennonite Church, Richmond Township.

Martin is also survived by four daughters: Alta B. (Martin) Zimmerman, Lime Springs, Iowa; Annetta B. (Martin) Zimmerman and Arlene B. (Martin) Shirk, both of Thorp, Wis.; and Pauline B. (Martin) Brubaker, Hamburg; and five sons: Harvey B., Antwerp, N.Y.; Raymond B., Lewistown, Mifflin County; Ezra B., Ephrata; Ivan B., Fleetwood; Jere B., Kutztown. Other survivors include two brothers, Eli M., Denver, Lancaster County, and Harvey M., Ephrata.

There are also 58 grandchildren and 53 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Etta (Martin) Zimmerman, in 2003. Services will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. in Fleetwood Mennonite Church. Ludwick Funeral Homes Inc., Kutztown, is in charge of arrangements.
