Ring, Elvira ‘Vera’ Adela (6 April 1914 - 4 Feb. 2005)

Elvira ‘Vera’ Adela Ring, 90, of Eau Claire died Friday at the home of her son in the town of Thorp, Clark County.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Eau Claire. Inurnment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire. Reverend Howard Fehr will officiate. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dennis Ring, Kenneth Ring, Brandon Ring, Dylon Ring and Peter Ring. Ushers will be Harold Marten and James Spielman.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church on Thursday.

Maurina/Community Funeral Home in Abbotsford is assisting the family.

Vera was born April 6, 1914, in Brackett, Wis., to Frank and Augusta (Luedtke) Marten. She attended Eau Claire Schools. Vera was married to Henry Ring who preceded her in death. She worked for Northwest Fabrics for a number of years and at Luther Hospital in the laundry department. She was active in Easter Seals telethons and her church. She started a retirement club for Operating Engineers Local 139B. Vera enjoyed baking, canning and playing cards.

Vera is survived by her sons, Henry (Nancy) Ring of Eau Claire and Rev. Anthony (Hazel) Ring of Thorp; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vernon (Elenore) Marten of Marshfield and Frank (Mary) Marten of Stevens Point; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Henry; her brothers, Harvey Marten and Harold Marten; and one sister, Erna Spielman.
