For many long years, he patiently sat,
Devoted, loving, and kind to the last;
Unselfishly gave whatever he had,
To make one of us happy and glad.
He knew, long’fore we did, that he
Would soon go home across the sea:
A homecoming there, for him would be
Father, mother, sister and one baby.
And so with calm, unfearing tread
Our father walked straight on ahead;
He clasped with happy, eager hands,
By Jesus, led to that happy land.
The Tribune wishes to offer heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.
