Christiansen, Augusta (Mar 1852 - 29 Jul 1931)

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Augusta Christiansen, nee Meyer, at the M. E. Church, the Rev. D. S. Householder of Greenwood officiating. Interment took place in the Loyal cemetery beside her husband, William Christiansen, who passed on nearly twenty years ago.

The deceased was born March 1852, in Germany, and came to the United States with her parents when only two years old. During the year 1872 she was united in marriage with William Christiansen and lived in Iowa several years. Over 50 years ago she and her family came to Wisconsin and settled as pioneers in Clark County near Spokeville.

Shortly after the death of her husband Mrs. Christiansen came to Loyal and has lived here alone since then. The deceased was apparently in good health and her death came as a shock to the many who knew her. She became ill late Wednesday afternoon with acute indigestion and passed into eternity early Thursday morning.

Those who survive the deceased are her daughters Mrs. Guy Cole of Marshfield, Mrs. Chas. Davel of this village; her sons Edward and Albert Christiansen of Marshfield; a sister, Mrs. Sarah Voss of Le Mars, Iowa; two brothers, Fred Meyer of St. Paul; Robert Meyer of Remsen, Ia., five grand children and two great grandchildren.

The Tribune joins the many friends of the bereaved in offering their heartfelt sympathy.
