The source is the Republican and Press newspaper; a weekly newspaper published in Neillsville, Wisconsin. Every week, certain areas in the County would publish "community columns" in the newspapers. During the late 1890s and early 1900s, it was common for someone from the York Township area (specifically around York Center / Wilcox) to write a brief column about what had happened during the past week. The writer of the column wasn't always the same, it seemed to change from time to time. I know my great x 3 grandfather, Adonijah Benendict, wrote the column for a time.
