Wojcik, William Joseph (6 June 1924 - 26 June 2005)

THORP -William J. Wojcik, 81, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Thorp, died Sunday, June 26, 2005, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2005, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary service, Thursday at the Thorp Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

William J. Wojcik

THORP - William Joseph Wojcik, 81, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Thorp, died Sunday, June 26, 2005, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis,.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2005, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Thorp Funeral Home, where there will be a 7 p.m. rosary service. Visitation will also be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

He was born on June 6, 1924, in Thorp to John and Caroline (Czyzewicz) Wojcik. He entered the U.S. Army Air Corps on Dec. 11, 1942, and was honorably discharged as a corporal on Nov. 25, 1945. He was untied in marriage to Shirley F. Schultze on Nov. 12, 1947, at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp. She preceded him in death on Jan. 25, 2004. On March 25, 1948, he entered the U.S. Air Force and worked as an electrical engineer for the Ground Electrical Engineers Installation Agency until his dischrge on April 30, 1964. He worked for the Civil Service from June 29, 1966, until his retirement in 1986. He and his wife moved to Tucson in 1995.

Mr. Wojcik is survived by his children, Greg Wojcik, Glen Carbon, Ill., Sandra (Joe) Crump, Trenton, Ill., Linda (John) Plunkett, Blossvale, N.Y., and Lori (Darren) Lauron, Austin, Texas; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, with burial in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, both in Thorp.

Friends May call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Thorp Funeral Home, where there will be a 7 p.m. rosary, and an hour before services at the church.
