Kotas, Gene (4 Jan. 1931 - 4 July 2005)

SPENCER -Gene Kotas, 74, of Spencer, died Monday, July 4, 2005, at North Central Health Care Facility in Wausau.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2005, at Community Funeral Home in Spencer. Burial will be in West Spencer Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Gene Kotas

SPENCER - Gene Kotas, 74, of Spencer, died Monday, July 4, 2005, at North Central Health Care facility in Wausau.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Community Funeral Home in Spencer. Burial will be in West Spencer Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

He was born on Jan. 4, 1931, in Oshkosh. He was raised by Clarence and Ethelyn Kotas and received his education in Marshfield. An electronics salesman, he loved music and played trombone in the Milwaukee Symphonic Orchestra. Upon returning to the Spencer area in the early 1970s, his love for music continued and he played in a band in Marshfield. He also loved nature, shooting, hunting and fishing.

He married his second wife, Melissa Crawford, on Dec. 10, 1988. He was a devoted husband.

Gene is survived by his wife, Melissa Kotas of Spencer; daughter, Karen (Thomas) Kloss, Appleton; son, Kevin (Sue) Kotas, Milwaukee; grandson, Matthew Kloss; and his wife's family.

He was preceded in death by his mother in childbirth; by Clarence and Ethelyn Kotas; and grandson, Danny Kotas.
