The Poet Cornered

Parting

I cannot formulate the words, For my desire to express, With a memory that will linger on, To cherish your friendliness.

Parting is a sad affair, When the time has come to go And to meet again sometime, The friends I have learned to know.

May providence guide you onward, Until your goal has been attained, Is my wish to all of you, For the friends that I have gained.

I appreciate your thoughts of me, I want you all to know, Which makes parting a sad affair When the time has come to go.
