Dittner, Clarence William (14 July 1915 - 11 Nov. 2003)

Former Siskiyou County resident, Clarence William Dittner, 88, of Rogue River, Ore., passed away Nov. 11, 2003 at Fair View Transitional Health Center.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Nov. 14 at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Pastor Jim Larsen of Christian Church of Ashland, Ore., will officiate.

Clarence was born July 14, 1915 in Loyal, Wis. On Sept. 16, 1939 he married Doris E. McKee in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

Clarence was a heavy equipment operator who worked 22 years for the Siskiyou County Road Department until his retirement in 1977. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Clarence was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling and walking the dogs.

Survivors include his wife, Doris E. Dittner of Rogue River; daughters, Beverly Jean Tobin of Antioch, Carol Lee Cooper of Central Point, Ore. and Patsy Kay Russell of Aumsville, Ore.; sisters, Inez Kakalecik of Great Falls, Mont. and Lois Dittner of Texas; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Clarence was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Couch; and brothers, Bud, Bob and Morris Dittner.

Grants Pass Funeral Alternatives and Crematory are in charge of arrangements.
