Kolaczkowski, Mrs. John (1888? - 11 Jan 1931)
As Mrs. John Kolaczkowski, aged forty-two years, little daughter, Eleanor, aged nearly five years, and Miss Emily Kolaczkowski, cousin of the latter, were driving home at the noon hour from St. Hedwig’s Church on Sunday last their Ford touring car became stalled on the railroad track three miles east of this village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.). At this time Train No. 1 came along, Miss Emily Kolaczkowski, driver of the car, and her cousin Emily seated in the front seat, jumped from the car, saving themselves, but Mrs. Kolaczkowski and little daughter Eleanor were not so fortunate and were crushed when the engine struck the car. Mrs. Kolaczkowski was instantly killed and Eleanor still alive was brought to Dr. F. N. Neis’ office and also died a few minutes later.
Mrs. Kolaczkowski leaves to mourn her untimely death, her husband John Kolaczkowski and four children, to whom the sympathy of the entire community is extended in their sad affliction.
The funerals took place at St. Hedwig’s Church on Wednesday morning, Father F. A. Kulig officiating, and interment following the service in the parish cemetery.
