FORMER COLBY TEACHER REPORTED LOST AT SEA

COLBY, WIS. - Lt. (jg) William Keppel, a former Colby High School Teacher, has been reported missing in action by the U.S. Navy, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Keppel of Mindoro.

Lt. Keppel was stationed on the U. S. S. Warrington, which was lost off the Atlantic coast in last week’s hurricane.

The Navyman, who taught in Colby during the 1941- 42 school year, received his commission at Annapolis Sept. 8, 1942, and was stationed on a destroyer in the Pacific before being transferred to the Warrington.
