Schilling, Margaret Marie (Marriage - 19 June 1946)

Miss Margaret Marie Schilling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schilling, of the town of Hull, and Harlan H. Witt, of Unity, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Witt of Abbotsford, were united in marriage at St. Mary’s rectory in Colby on Wednesday afternoon, June 19, with the Rev. N. B. Beschta officiating.

The bride wore a gown of fashioned with an embroidered satin top and full net skirt and finger-tip veil of tulle. She carried a bouquet of pink roses. Mrs. Harvey Barts Jr., who was her sister’s maid of honor, wore a full skirted gown of white net over taffeta and a corsage of pink and white carnations.

The bridesmaids, Miss Elaine Witt, sister of the groom, and Miss Florence Bantes, wore gowns of blue and pink net, respectively, and both wore corsages of pink and white carnations.

The groom was attended by Harvey Barts Jr., Halbert Hardrath, and Herbert Schilling.

A reception was held and supper served to the immediate relatives at the home of the bride’s parents. The house was decorated with pink, white and blue streamers. In the evening, a dance was given at Walter’s Pavilion in Colby.

The bride has been employed for the past year and one-half at the Standard Container Company at Edgar. They will make their home on the groom’s farm west of Unity.
