Rueth, Ellen (12 MAY 1856 - 21 Jan 1933)

The funeral of Mrs. Joseph Rueth, 76, who died at her home west of Loyal on Saturday, January 21, of pneumonia, was held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church on Tuesday morning, January 24, at 9 o'clock, Rev. A. J. Aurit officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Ellen Longeway was born in Franklin, Canada, May 12, 1856. She was united in marriage to Louis LeBarge in the year 1873. He passed away sixteen years later. She with her little family lived for a year or two in New York state and then moved to Hogan near Marshfield and later moved to the town of Sherman, where the most of her life was spent.

Eight years ago she was united in marriage to Joseph Rueth, who survives her, in their home west of Loyal. She is also survived by three sons; Louis, Tacoma, Wash., John and Fred, Town of Sherman; one daughter, Mrs. Elmer McVean, Birchwood, Wis. One sister, Mrs. Florence, of Appleton; nine grand children, besides other relatives and a host of friends also survive.

Mrs. Rueth was a faithful and unselfish mother and was devoted to her home circle and gave unsparingly of her time for their happiness. Her memory will be long cherished.

Those acting as pall bearers at the funeral were: Albert Davel, James McGonigal, Fred Stutte, Conrad Loos, A. J. Braun and Thomas Geisler.
