Koski, Arvo (28 March 1906 - 16 April 1989)
Arvo Koski, 83, Rt. 1, Loyal, Town of Beaver, died Sunday, April 16, 1989, at 12:45 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday April 16, 1989 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Town of Green Grove with Rev. DuWayne Schneider officiating. Burial took place in the St. Luke’s Cemetery. Relatives served as pallbearers.
Arvo Koski was born March 28, 1906 in Finland to Alex and Edla (Myllari) Koski. He received his education at the Green Grove Schools. On July 11, 1933, he married Evelyn Elstrom, in Waukegan, Ill. They celebrated their Golden Anniversary in 1983. He worked in Illinois for Buick Motors, until they moved to Loyal in 1946, where he worked for the Soo Line Railroad and farmed. He was a member of St. Luke’s Church.
Surviving him are his wife, Evelyn; two sons, William Koski, Herndon, Virginia; James Koski, Loyal; one daughter, Miss Donna Koski, Milwaukee; one sister, Mrs. Julis Mackey, Westminster, California; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchildn.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers, Alex and Arthur.
Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
