Ercke, Christian (1908 - 10 Jan 1890)

Christian Ercke, an old gentleman who has been residing with his niece, Mrs. Wm. Greske, in this town, for a number of years past, fell from a straw stack last Wednesday, and was so badly injured internally, that he only lived two days. The old gentleman was 81 years of age and until the time of the accident was in apparent good health, and in possession of all his faculties. The morning of the accident Mr. Greseke told him he had better not go on the straw stack as it was slippery, but in doing the chores about the barn he needed some straw and climbed the stack with the result as stated. The funeral occurred at the Lutheran Church, on Saturday, Rev. Jos. Fiehler officiating.
