Brown, Edith J. (20 JUN 1932)
A very quiet wedding took place at Neillsville on Monday, June 20th at 3 o’clock when Miss Edith Jane Brown, daughter of Mrs. Lottie Brown, became the bride of Mr. John Jakobi, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jacobi of Granton, Wisconsin.
The ceremony was performed by Judge O. W. Schoengarth, the same judge that married Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brown twenty-one years ago, parents of the bride.
The bride was prettily attired in Alice blue gown of flat crepe trimmed with cream lace. She carried a shower bouquet of white peonies, orange blossoms and rose buds.
The groom wore the conventional blue suit.
They were attended by Miss Velda Lawrence, friend of the bride and Mr. Roland Jakobi, brother of the groom.
The bridesmaid wore a gown of flowered green chiffon voile and carried white peonies and pink roses.
A wedding dinner was served at 7 o’clock at the home of the groom to the immediate relatives, which was followed by a dance for their friends.
Tuesday evening a reception was held at the home of Mrs. Lottie Brown, mother of the bride, which about eighty people attended. Cards formed the entertainment, after which a delicious lunch was served by the hostess. The young couple were recipients of many useful and appropriate gifts.
Both homes were decorated with crepe paper in pastel shades and baskets of peonies and roses.
