PHONOGRAPH (Colby, Wis.) 08/28/1890 Pierce, Jessie M.
(27 Augl 1890) Married, at the
residence of the bride’s parents in Abbotsford, Wis., Aug.
27th, 1890, at 8 o’clock p.m., Allen L. Kromer of Grand
Rapids, Wis., and Jessie M. Pierce, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
J. O. Pierce, Rev. C. D. Scott of Colby officiating. A few personal
friends were gathered to witness the ceremony which makes two one,
and in token of their friendship gave gifts both costly and
beautiful. The groomsman and bridesmaid escorted the parties to
their positions on a mat composed of ferns and golden rod, with a
horseshoe of white daisies between them. The impressive ceremony
over, congratulations were extended to the happy pair, after which
the company partook of the bountiful supper provided. The couple
were escorted by their friends to their newly furnished house, and
the new home was dedicated with prayer and a song was sung with
piano accompaniment, by Mr. and Mrs. Kromer. The company then
wished them "goodnight" and departed.
