Hardrath, Eileen Hattie (15 Feb. 1920 - 28 April 1996)
Eileen Hattie Hardrath, 76, Owen, died on Sunday, April 28, 1996, at the Colonial House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Colby.
Funeral services were held May 1, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, North Green Grove, with the Rev. DuWayne Schneider officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery and grandsons served as pallbearers.
The former Eileen Sommer was born on Feb. 15, 1920, in the Town of Green Grove, the daughter of Theodore and Bertha (Woik) Sommer. She attended area schools and was a graduate of Colby High School.
On December 5, 1939, she was united in marriage to Harley Hardrath at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She was born, farmed, and lived all her life in the Town of Green Grove. A homemaker, she enjoyed flowers and her beautiful yard, singing and playing cards, and has a great love for her family. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Ladies Aid and the Green Grove Sunshine Club.
She is survived by her husband, Harley Hardrath of Owen; four daughters, Sandra (Larry) Fritz of Owen, Sally (Jerome) Weiler of Owen, Sheryl (Harold) Snortheim of Eau Claire, and Susie (Phillip) Roebuck of Port Neches, Tex.; two brothers, Vernon (Jeanette) Sommer and Marlyn (Karen) Sommer, both of Curtiss; one sister, Marilyn (Len) Wachsmuth of Arlington Heights, Ill., 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Donald Sommer; one sister, Ruth Schuette, and two grandsons.
Mauria Funeral Home, Owen, assisted the family with arrangements.
