James G. Ignasiak, age 91, of the Town of Thorp passed away on Friday, June 25, 2004. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at St Mary's Czestochowa Catholic Church, Stanley, WI with Father John Puerner officiating. Burial followed in St. Mary's Czestochowa Cemetery, Stanley. Visitation was held on Monday, June 28,2004 from 4-8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. rosary being recited at the Plombon Funeral Chapel, Stanley, WI

Jim was born on April 4,1913 in the Town of Thorp rural Stanley, WI the son of Martin and Mary Ignasiak. He grew up in the area and attended schools. He was united in marriage to Estelle Zaborowski on September 3, 1938 at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, Thorp, WI and they resided in the Town of Thorp where the lived and farmed all of their lives until the recent years in which he resided at Oakbrook Manor in Thorp. WI. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and going on rides to sightsee.

He is survived by his wife, Estelle and two daughters: Loretta (Ed) Sczpioroski of Stanley, WI and Rita Derks of Thorp, WI; Two grandchildren: Julie Derks and James (Brenda) Derks; and six great-grandchildren: Samantha, Katina, Darin, Brooklyn, Stepanie and Shawn; and one sister Josephine Fijalkewicz of Stanley, WI.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and seven sisters: Julia, Jankowski, Madeline Kaminski, Mary Artabasy, Katherine Jankowski, Sophie Vitort, Edna Kott, and Louis Bruha and three brothers: John Ignasiak, Chester Ignasiak and Stanley Ignasiak.
