Flink, Conrad August (10 Nov. 1921 - 10 Jan. 1997)

COLBY, WIS. - Conrad August Flink, 75, Colby, Wisconsin, died Jan. 10, 1997, at St. Joseph’s Hospital Hospice Care Unit.

Services are at 11:30 a.m. Monday at First United Church of Christ in Colby. Rev. Kenneth A. Dix will officiate. The family will great friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

Conrad was born Nov. 10, 1921, in the town of Brighton, Marathon County, to August and Elsie (Peterson) Flink. He attended school in Unity. He served in the Army/Air Force during the World War II.

Conrad married Irene Schultz on Sept. 14, 1946, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity. He and Irene farmed in the Colby/ Unity area until they retired in 1993. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ and Colby VFW Post 2227.

Conrad is survived by his wife, Irene, of Colby; six sons, Robert (Lottie) Flink of Abbotsford, Jerome (LuAnn) Flink of Dorchester, Richard (Elaine) Flink of Appleton, Ronald (Virginia) Flink of Marshfield, Jack (Caryl) Flink of Unity, and Kevin (Kristine) Flink of Unity; and two daughters, Karen (David) Hoernke of Endeavor, and Kristine (Denis) Woik of Colby. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Linda (Peter) Wootus of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by one son, James Flink, and one infant daughter, two brothers, four sisters, and his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials May be given to the First United Church of Christ Building Fund.

The Community Funeral Home in Colby is assisting the family with arrangements.
